Effect of moisture content on adhesive properties of Galium aparine L. seeds

Paper presented the experiment dealing with determination of adhesive forces of Galium asparine L. seeds towards the polyamide bedding in specially designed device. The experiment was carried out at seed moisture content within 6.2-17.9%, the data were analysed statistically using curvilinear single-variable regression method with selection of a polynomial degree. The adhesive forces rose from 5.88 (at 6.2% m.c.) up to 12.35 mN (at 12.0% m.c.). Up to about 12% m.c. the hooked bristles on seed surface were broken off (damaged), whereas at higher moisture contents their disconnection (unhooking) was observed
