Western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis Pergande) is one of the most important pests on different agriculture plants in greenhouses all over the world. In warmer areas it may cause severe damage also in the open. In the article the bionomics and economically importance of the pest in the open in different parts of the world and in Slovenia is presented.
