Weed infestation of cereal crops grown on ecological farms in the Lublin region

The weed infestatiom of cereal crops was investigated on six ecological farms situated on loessial soils in May 2000. The number of weeds, their fresh weight and composition of species per 1 square m were estimated in four replications. In ecological farms weed infestation (weeds number and fresh weight) in spring cereals was four times higher and in winter cereals two times - compared with conventional farms. More intensive diversity of weed species was considered on ecological farms
