Crucial value of Bernard Wapowski's output in Polish cartography

The maps by a Polish cartographer, Bernard Wapowski (ca. 1475-1535) have created an impression on Polish cartography. B. Wapowski 2 maps of European Sarmatia (in the scale 1:2 900 000) were edited in 1526 in Cracow. Map of Baltic countries disappeared. The second map represented southeastern part of Europe. Only eastern half of the map remained to the present time in fascimile shapes. The most important B. Wapowski's map was map of Poland and western part of the Grand Duchy of Lihuania (Polonia) in the scale of 1:1 000 000. The map was edited in 1526 or in first months of later year and was very detailed. Only five fascimile fragments of Polonia edited by Karol Buczek in 1939 remain to the oresent time. In the paper author has presented a new proposal of reconstruction Wapowski's map using sequential transformation of set of points from chosen maps as the base to location of rivers and whole settlement systems
