English. The distribution of size of particles is one of the parameters by which dry process may be controlled. Therefore the used device has to work on-line for to get measuring data at useful time intervals. Additional it should be placed in-line, because in this case no product has to be taken out of the process. Now a new device named Mytos has been developed by the manufacturer Sympatec. It works by laser diffraction and serves both tasks. In dry process particles of different size flow in separate sectors through a tube. Correct sampling depends on considering this aspect. This makes it necessary to take samples from the entire cross-section of the tube. In order to achieve representative sampling, another new device called Twister has been designed by the same manufacturer. The way the proof is taken is by the form of a spiral. The result is that the opening by this way of moving stays variable time intervals at the different positions. This effect is compensated by movingthe opening of the sampling device with corresponding speed. Both devices were designed so that they can be combined for to work in-line. As another possibility, the sampling device serves the connected particle size analysis device which works onJy on-line. Afterwards the samples can be examined by other tests.
