Arable lands, frequently maintained as uncultivated, were focused on the present study. An offer of their usage as farm for ostrich, red deer or fallow deer basis would be extensive pastures was presented. Another way for utilization of biomass produced on arable lands is its usage as a fuel on a farm, because it is of good energetical value. Attention was also paid to the yielding potential of reed, whose biomass could be not only good renewal fuel but also a material for lignocellulose plate production. Moreover, the morphological characteristics of red-species that occur in wet habitats of southern France was presented. The plant forms stalks 8 m tall similarly to bamboo plants
