Dzwonko, Z. (Jagiellonian University, Cracow (Poland). Inst. of Botany)
The purpose of this present study was to estimate migration rates of woodland species to a secondary pine forest planted in an abandoned limestone grassland close to an ancient deciduous forest. It was found that, in spite of a 52-year long succession, the border between woods was sharp and the composition of species in the recent forest were significantly different than in the adjecent ancient forest. The migration rate of many species, calculated on occurrence of the farthest individual was very slow
