Intensification of propolis production and its quallity

It was found that propolis of the highest quality is obtained with the use of propolis traps in the form of plastic screens or polyethylene discs. Its scrapping from frames nad bars resulted in a high content of impurities (40 percent). The lowest content of impurities (28 percent) was noted in the case of polyethylene discs. The main impurity component is wax (over 50 percent). The biological activity of propolis was different in particular years, in spite of the fact that it was trapped from the same site.
