Biological factors affecting cultivation of dittany (Dictamnus albus L.) as a medicinal plant

On the basis of 5-year-long investigations and of observations of sowing, reproduction, height and development as well as the decorative value of two cultivars of dittany (Dictamnus albus cultivars Albiflorus and Rosa Purple) recommendations for growing these plants are presented. The studies also examined the water content of fresh herbage and flowers during flowering. The content of tannins was determined in specimens collected in May and dried. The content ranged from 4.56 to 5.22 in the white cultivar, and from 3.94 to 7.11 in the pink one
