English. The plant characteristics of some cultivated and spontaneous genotypes of strawbwerry tree (Arbutus unedo) and Neapolitan medlar (Crataegus azarolus) collected in Sicily are reported. Both species are suitable for use as ornamental, with or without fruits, and for fruit production. In these two productive fields the genotypes show a different potentiality depending on their peculiar characteristics
