English. The aim of this study was the sex determination in seven common buzzards by means of endoscopy and DNA analysis on feathers. Endoscopy was highly useful both for sex determination and for the direct evaluation of the functional status of gonads. DNA analysis showed an accuracy lower than the findings reported in bibliography, probably because of the lack of species-specific references about this method applied on common buzzard. Post mortem necroscopy confirmed the findings achieved with endoscopy
