This report shows the main characteristics of the different strategies of weed biocontrol using plant pathogens, as well as those of biological herbicides and mycoberbicides; furthermore, some information on the possible strategies used to improve the efficacy of pathogens and their herbicidal properties is illustrated; research activity in Italy and future perspectives are also shortly shown
