The Lankaran Lowland (SE Azerbaijan) differs from other regions of the republic the biggest share of the fertile soils in the farming lands. The land reforms performed in Azerbaijan in the 90th years of the XX century raised an importance of the lands assessment and agroindustrial classification. The agroindustrial classification of the lands in the Lankaran Lowland has been performed on the basis of the agroecological assessment of soils by analysis such characteristics of farming lands as growing plants, environment and soil factors. The soils are divided into four groups: the first group – the superior qualitative soils (100–81 scores); the second group – good qualitative soils (80–61 scores); the third group – mean qualitative soils (60–41 scores); the fourth – soils of poor quality (40–21 scores); the fifth group – the conventional unfit soils (lower than 20 scores). The proposed classification possess both scientific-theoretical and practical importance.
