2021
Saruhan, Mehmet Ali | Aktem, Ayse Gulgun
In this study, it was planned to determine the appropriate planting times for maize (Zea mays L.) cultivation in Diyarbakır ecological conditions by using 3 hybrid maize cultivars. In the study, BODEGA from FAO-500 ripening group, CAPUZİ from FAO-600 ripening group, and 75MAY75 from FAO-700 ripening group, were planted in different periods. Plantings were made at 15-day intervals. The first planting was done on 15 April, the last planting also done on 1 July. The experiment was carried out with 3 replications and in the form of "randomized block split-plot design’’. Planting times were placed in the main plot and varieties were placed in the sup-plot. Stem thickness, corncob length, corncob thickness, number of kernels per ear, 1000 kernel weight, hectoliter, crude oil and grain yield of the cultivars were investigated. On the basis of variety, 75MAY75 variety stood out with 14930 kg/ha in terms of grain yield per unit area. In terms of the averages of sowing periods, the highest yield was noted in April 15 with 12480 kg/ha
