Rajčániová, Miroslava | Lazorčáková, Ema
The bioeconomy, i.e. an economy based on biological resources, is gaining more attention in the EU’s policy agenda as its implementation is supposed to be a necessary response to current socio-economic problems, such as climate change and resource depletion. To combine economic growth and environmental sustainability, the EU adopted a dedicated bioeconomy strategy that should be complemented by country-level strategies. This paper aims to provide a critical analysis of policy strategies focused on the bioeconomy in the EU and its Member States.
