Evolution and impact of life expectancy at birth of the persons in retirement age on dependency ratio income of economic active population in the V4 countries

At the present time of increasing life expectancy, countries' pension systems are under enormous pressure on their sustainability. Especially if they are based on a continuous way of financing called PAYGO. Increasing life expectancy is great to show the increasing standard of living of the population, but for pension systems this trend is undesirable, given the financial sustainability of the system. The article analyse the current situation and development of life expectancy in the V4 countries and the impact on the age dependency ratio. In the final part, we evaluate the results of research into the impact of life expectancy on the dependence rate separately in all V4 countries, which we obtain using regression analysis between 1960 and 2017.
