Vegetative development of oregano (Plecthranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng.) in three substrates at the nursery level using different bag sizes | Desarrollo vegetativo del orégano (Plecthranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng.) en tres sustratos a nivel de vivero empleando diferentes tamaños de bolsas

English. ABSTRACT The present research addresses morphological aspects of the plant and evaluates the behavior of vegetative development of oregano (Plecthranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng) through the establishment of stems at nursery level using a Randomized Complete Block design, over a period of 90 days. Each block was composed of 30 plants, with three replications for a total of six blocks with 180 plants. Three measurements were made at 30-day intervals. The variables were: survival, number of leaves, plant height, and leaf length and width. Three types of substrates were used; 1) 100 % soil, 2) a mixture of 35 % soil, 30 % sand, 30 % bokashi and 5 % lime, 3) 35 % soil, 35 % rice husk and 30 % sand. In the laboratory, the percentage of biomass in green and dry weight (root and aerial) was calculated to check the moisture content of the plant. The bokashi substrate presented the best results in terms of organic matter and nitrogen. Plant growth was better with the bokashi substrate when obtaining the highest values; in terms of stem survival, a general average of 64% was recorded, with no difference between the factors or in the interaction; in terms of the number of leaves, the bokashi substrate in large bag obtained 41 leaves, in length and width of the leaf, 6.07 cm and 5.32 cm were recorded respectively, and 32.46 cm in plant height, all these results obtained in the moisture content of the plants was higher (86%) with the bokashi substrate.

Spanish; Castilian. La presente investigación aborda aspectos morfológicos de la planta y se evalúa el comportamiento del desarrollo vegetativo del orégano (Plecthranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng) a través del establecimiento de tallos a nivel de vivero utilizando un diseño de Bloque Completo al Azar, en un periodo de 90 días. Cada bloque estaba compuesto de 30 plantas, con tres repeticiones para un total de seis bloques con 180 plantas. Se efectuaron tres mediciones con intervalo de 30 días. Las variables fueron: sobrevivencia, número de hojas, altura de planta, longitud y ancho de hojas. Se utilizaron tres tipos de sustratos; 1) 100 % Suelo, 2) mezcla de 35 % suelo, 30 % arena, 30 % de bokashi y 5 % cal, 3) 35 % suelo, 35 % cascarilla de arroz y 30 % arena. En el laboratorio se calculó el porcentaje de biomasa en peso verde y seco (radicular y aéreo,) para comprobar el contenido de humedad de la planta. El sustrato bokashi presenta los mejores resultados en cuanto a materia orgánica y nitrógeno. El crecimiento de la planta fue mejor con el sustrato bokashi al obtener los mayores valores; en cuanto a la sobrevivencia de los tallos se registró un promedio general de 64 %, sin existir diferencia entre las factores ni en la interacción; en cuanto al número de hojas el sustrato bokashi en bolsa grande obtuvo 41 hojas, en longitud y ancho de la hoja se registraron 6.07 cm y 5.32 cm respectivamente, y 32.46 cm en altura de planta, todos estos resultados obtenidos en el contenido de humedad de las plantas fue mayor (86 %) con el sustrato bokashi.
