Ekonomsko ekološke značajke proizvodnje kameline | Economic and ecological characteristics of cameline production
2023
Ranogajec, Ljubica
With the increase in input prices, restrictions on subsidies for plant protection and the use of heavy agricultural machinery, the introduction of alternative crops is becoming more and more important. When introducing a new production line, it is necessary to establish technological, economic and environmental justification. Camelina is a low-investment crop and very tolerant to agroecological conditions and disease and insect attack. It is grown as a main crop or as an intercrop. Some camelina seeds are processed into oil, and some are exported as seeds. The production of camelina has lower production costs than other oilseeds, and has potential from an agroecological and economic point of view. Due to the short growing season, a better use of the soil is possible, which ensures two harvests a year and continuous coverage of the soil with plant mass, which is more environmentally friendly and economically successful than traditional crops.
