Desde un enfoque sanitario es importante realizar un estudio sobre la prestación de los servicios públicos en los distintos territorios de Colombia y así vigilar el buen funcionamiento y la calidad con que se satisfacen las necesidades básicas higiénico- sanitarias de la comunidad. El municipio a estudiar es Tibasosa ubicado en el departamento de Boyacá, donde hace más de una década no se realiza un diagnóstico al alcantarillado. El objetivo es identificar las falencias y carencias que tiene la red de alcantarillado, proporcionando recomendaciones al municipio, con el fin de mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. El trabajo de grado se realizó con base a visitas de campo, para la recopilación y análisis de la información acerca de cada uno de los componentes con los que cuenta el sistema de alcantarillado, además se desarrollaron una serie de encuestas aplicadas a la comunidad para conocer su perspectiva respecto al servicio de alcantarillado que se presta en el municipio.

From a sanitary perspective, it is important to carry out a study in the different territories of Colombia to watch the good performance and quality that satisfy the hygienic-sanitary basic needs of the community. The municipality to study is Tibasosa located in the state of Boyacá where a sewage system diagnostic has not been carried out more than a decade ago. The objective is to identify the failures and scarcity that the sewage system has by providing some recommendations to the municipality to improve the inhabitant’s life quality. The degree work was carried out through field visits to compile and analyze the information about each of the sewage system components. Furthermore, a series of surveys applied to the community were developed to know inhabitant’s perspective regarding the sewage service given by the municipality.
