Recientes estudios forestales han permitido evidenciar la relación entre la tasa de crecimiento de las especies arbóreas con la anatomía del árbol, la influencia de variaciones climatológicas y fenológicas, entre otras. El presente trabajo surgió con el propósito de generar investigación que incluya procesos silviculturales para favorecer el desarrollo de plantaciones forestales en la Orinoquía de Colombia; el tema surge a partir de la importancia del vínculo existente entre la influencia del manejo forestal y las características de la madera como los anillos de crecimiento. Se busca proponer un régimen de aclareo para mejorar el crecimiento y la calidad de la madera en individuos de plantaciones comerciales de Acacia Mangium Willd, teniendo en cuenta que el área de estudio no presenta ningún proceso de aclareo. Se realizó un muestreo de 521 árboles al azar en 2000 ha, tomando dos alturas distintas del fuste (0,0 y 6mts) para un total de 1042 rodajas, en plantaciones disetáneas ubicadas en los municipios de Puerto Gaitán y San Martin en el departamento del Meta. Se llevó a cabo el transporte y secado al aire del material para su posterior preparación por medio de lijado y se midieron variables como diámetro de troza, número de anillos, ancho, deformación, y relación albura/duramen para identificar plenamente la formación y delimitación macroscópica de los anillos de crecimiento. Posteriormente, se hizo la selección final de las 32 muestras más representativas, con al menos una por cada bloque, de cada finca, perfeccionando el maquinado y midiendo cuatro radios de cada pieza (rodaja) para mejorar la confiabilidad de la información; después del escaneo y análisis digital del material, incorporó el análisis climatológico de la zona. El análisis estadístico del estudio se desarrolló con el software SSPS (v.15) obteniendo los valores descriptivos y el análisis de componentes principales para relacionar las variables estudiadas. Finalmente se concluyó la relación directa entre la época de sequía con la formación de anillos de crecimiento para esta especie; además el análisis de las variables relacionadas a estas estructuras anatómicas proporcionaron la información necesaria para proponer el régimen de aclareo más adecuado para la especie.

A sampling of 521 trees was carried out at random in 2000 ha, taking two different heights of the stem (0.0 and 6mts) for a total of 1042 slices, in separate plantations located in the municipalities of Puerto Gaitán and San Martin in the Department of Goal. The statistical analysis of the study was developed with the SSPS software (v.15) obtaining the descriptive values and the principal component analysis to relate the variables studied. Finally, the direct relationship between the dry season and the formation of growth rings for this species was concluded; In addition, the analysis of the variables related to these anatomical structures provided the necessary information to propose the most appropriate thinning regime for the species.
