Caucasian rhododendron (Rhododendron caucsicum Pall) is characterized by a very wide range of useful properties. Considering the many useful properties of rhododendron, the question of study on its antilipase properties was raised. The results of the study of the biochemical composition of the Caucasian rhododendron are presented. In particular, the extractability of dried rhododendron roots, polyphenol content, antioxidant and antilipase activity were studied. As a result of the conducted studies, it was found that the extractability, polyphenol content and antioxidant activity of the dried roots are inferior to the similar indicators of the leaves of the same plant, while the antilipase activity is significantly (about 2.3 times) higher than the antilipase activity of the leaves and is also higher than the antioxidant activity of the currently used medication known as orlistat for this purpose.
