Biological Characteristics of Poisonous Species of the Ranunculus L. Genus in the Flora of Nakhchivan

Annual and perennial herbaceous plants belonging to the Ranunculus L. genus of the Ranunculaceae family were studied. It has been established that 103 out of 2000 species of the family are common in Azerbaijan and many of them are poisonous. In the taxonomic spectrum of the Nakhchivan flora, 55 species belonging to 14 genera of the Ranunculaceae family were identified. As a result of the research, toxic compounds were identified in 47 species belonging to 11 genera. Ranunculus L. is widespread in pastures and meadows and is represented by 33 species and 15 species, of which 13 are poisonous pasture plants. It is important to survey the distribution area of Ranunculus L. species, especially poisonous species, and improve the quality of pastures.
