Productivity, natural resistance and ethological features of breeding steers when reared on different floor areas

The paper presents the results of studies with purpose to determine the productivity, natural resistance and ethological characteristics of breeding steers when reared on different floor areas. The research was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. As a result of realized research it was determined that the optimal floor area for breeding steers during the period of pen housing up to 10 months of made 3.5 square m per animal, which contributes to increase in body weight by 2.8-7.3%, average daily weight gain - by 4.1-11.3%, decrease in feed consumption, increase in natural resistance of 0.3-4.9 p.p. and a positive effect on ethological indicators. / В статье приведены результаты исследований, целью которых было определить продуктивность, естественную резистентность и этологические особенности племенных бычков при выращивании на различной площади пола. Установлено, что оптимальной площадью пола для племенных бычков в период содержания в станках до 10-месячного возраста является 3,5 м2 на голову, что способствует повышению живой массы на 2,8-7,3%, среднесуточного прироста - на 4,1-11,3%, снижению затрат кормов, увеличению естественной резистентности 0,3-4,9 п.п. и положительно отражается на этологических показателях.
