English. In the work the achievements of Polish potato breeding in the years 1946–2007 are presented. In that period, 216 new potato varieties have been released, most of them (nearly 36%) at the breeding centre Zamarte. According to the data from the registration trials conducted by COBORU, new varieties have brought the noticeable progress in relation to yield size and quality, associated with the improved resistance to major potato diseases. Polish table varieties, compared to the foreign ones registered in Poland, show comparable yielding potential and the higher level of resistance to PVY and late blight on leaves. Unfortunately, as regards the morphological features of tubers, Polish varieties are inferior to foreign ones.
Show more [+] Less [-]Polish. Treścią pracy jest prezentacja dorobku polskiej hodowli ziemniaka w latach 1946–2007. W tym okresie wyhodowano 216 nowych odmian, z tego najwięcej (prawie 36%) w ośrodku Zamarte. Na podstawie analizy oficjalnych danych z doświadczeń rejestrowych COBORU stwierdzono, że nowe odmiany wnosiły zauważalny, chociaż zróżnicowany w latach, postęp pod względem plonowania jak i wybranych cech odporności i jakości. W stosunku do zarejestrowanych w Polsce odmian zagranicz-nych, polskie odmiany jadalne wykazują porównywalny potencjał plonowania oraz przewagę pod względem odporności na wirus Y i zarazę ziemniaka liści. Ustępują natomiast pod względem cech morfologicznych decydujących o ładnym wyglądzie bulw.
