This article is based on the study of the beekeeping sector in the Republic of Moldova, and the characteristics of the beekeeping products consumed nationwide. The significant increase in recent years of bee populations in different areas of the republic, produces a growing interest on the part of beekeepers to examine the prospects for the development of the honey base in the country. The nutritive and terapteutical properties of bee products are attractive to consumers. The trend of modern hive development is a challenge for Moldovan beekeepers, who are implementing different methods of breeding and developing bee families and brood.
