The adoption of innovationeering smart technologies presents a promising solution for the revitalization of the Philippine rice postharvest industry. The integration of cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and blockchain can enhance the entire value chain, from harvesting to distribution and consumption, and improve the quality standards while reducing postharvest losses. Although the adoption of smart technologies may present some challenges, the potential benefits are significant. By utilizing loT sensors, Al algorithms, and blockchain technology, stakeholders can achieve end-to-end traceability of rice, which will enhance food and nutrition safety and quality control. To realize the potential of innovationeering smart technologies in the Philippine rice postharvest industry, policy makers must prioritize investment in infrastructure and digital literacy. Additionally, regulatory frameworks should be established to incentivize private sector investments in smart technologies.
