Evaluation of perennial wheat samples from international collection CIMMYT as an initial material for winter wheat breeding under conditions of the southern forest-steppe of Western Siberia | Многолетняя пшеница международной коллекции СIMMYТ как исходный материал для селекции озимой пшеницы в условиях южной лесостепи Западной Сибири

English. To expand the genetic diversity of winter wheat varieties being created it is promising to use the potential of the international collection of perennial wheat. On the experimental field of the Omsk State Agrarian University in 2019–2022 with annual sowing as winter crops, there were studied five perennial wheat and triticum-agropyrum hybrids (TAHs) obtained by crossing soft wheat varieties with wheatgrass species Th. ponticum, Th. elongatum, and Th. intermedium from the CIMMYT international collection (Mexico). Field and laboratory research methods were used. It was established that accessions 235A and Otrastayushchaya 38 obtained on the basis of tall wheatgrass (Th. elongatum) and intermediate wheatgrass (Th. intermedium) were characterized by higher winter hardiness (on average 78 and 90%). Accessions 11955, TAF46, and Otrastayushchaya 38 can produce an acceptable yield level under conditions of the southern forest steppe of Western Siberia (on average 239–289 g/m2) and are promising for breeding winter wheat to expand the genetic diversity and to increase resistance to abiotic environmental factors. In general, the perennial wheat samples formed a significantly lower thousand kernel weight in comparison with the winter standard. Under conditions of dry years, a significant correlation of the thousand kernel weight was noted with the upper internode length (r = 0.54, 2019), the flag leaf length (r = 0.55–0.71), and fertile tilling capacity (r = 0.55–0.70). According to figures provided by a clustering analysis, it was found that the thousand kernel weight constitutes a single cluster with the grain weight of a plant and fertile tilling capacity, in 2019–2020, an average correlation was noted with these traits (r = 0.55–0.73). It is advisable to take into account the identified associations at selecting perennial wheat plants with an increased thousand kernel weight. Depending on the meteorological conditions of the year, accessions 11955, TAF46, and Otrastayushchaya 38 formed an acceptable yield, on average 239–289 g/m2.

Russian. Для расширения генетического разнообразия создаваемых сортов озимой пшеницы перспективно использование потенциала международной коллекции многолетней пшеницы. На опытном поле Омского ГАУ в 2019–2022 гг. при ежегодном посеве по типу озимых изучали пять образцов многолетней пшеницы – пшенично-пырейных гибридов (ППГ), полученных скрещиванием сортов мягкой пшеницы с видами пырея Thinopyrum ponticum, Th. elongatum и Th. intermedium из международной коллекции CIMMYT (Мексика). Использованы полевые и лабораторные методы исследований. Установлено, что образцы 235А и Отрастающая 38 (на основе пырея удлиненного (Th. elongatum) и пырея среднего (Th. intermedium) отличались более высокой зимостойкостью (в среднем 78 и 90%). Образцы 11955, TAF46 и Отрастающая 38 способны давать в условиях южной лесостепи Западной Сибири приемлемый уровень урожайности (в среднем – 239–289 г/м2) и перспективны при селекции озимой пшеницы для расширения генетического разнообразия и повышения устойчивости к абиотическим факторам среды. В целом образцы многолетней пшеницы формировали достоверно меньшую массу 1000 зерен в сравнении с озимым стандартом. В условиях засушливых лет достоверная корреляция массы 1000 зерен зафиксирована с длиной верхнего междоузлия (r = 0,54, 2019 г.), длиной флагового листа (r = 0,55–0,71) и продуктивной кустистостью (r = 0,55–0,70). По данным кластерного анализа: масса 1000 зерен составляет единый кластер с массой зерна растения и продуктивной кустистостью, в 2019–2020 гг. с этими признаками выявлена средняя корреляция (r = 0,55–0,73). При отборе растений многолетней пшеницы с повышенной массой 1000 зерен целесообразно учитывать выявленные сопряженности. В зависимости от метеорологических условий года образцы 11955, TAF46 и Отрастающая 38 формировали приемлемый уровень урожайности (в среднем 239–289 г/м2).
