Robert Leslie Usinger (1912-1968), one of the world's outstanding entomologists and an expert on the ecology of insects, was professor entomology at the University of California during most of his career. He was the author of 150 scientific books and papers. As a hobby, Usinger collected the works of Carolus Linnaeus. Usinger was a fellow of the Linnaeaan Society of London, and his library of meterials by Linnaeus is one of the extensive of its kind in the Wold.
