Abstract: This booklet presents tips to help individuals lessen the risk of coronary heart disease by selecting and preparing food low in saturated fat and cholesterol. The Food and Drug Administration's regulations on cholesterol labeling on products are also discussed. Charts are included which contain the fat content of various dairy products; meat, poultry, fish, beans, and eggs; fats oils; and selected snacks. A glossary and the National Institutes of Health Panel's recommendation to reduce fat intake are provided.
