Abstract: A 2-volume study guide for training and development professionals details the fine points of developing and evaluating instructional systems. Volume I presents the tools needed by training professionals to design productivity-focused instructional interventions These tools are organized within 5 major tasks: establishing productivity goals; analyzing contextual tasks; specifying training objectives; developing the training curriculum; and planning the training delivery. Volume II focuses on a second set of tools needed to design effective systematic evaluations of productivity-focused instructional interventions. These tools specifically cover assessments of process movement, content acquisition, skill application, task transfer, and instructional goal attainment. Guidelines for processing the assessment data and instructions for favorability scaling are appended to Volume II. Glossaries are included in each of the volumes. (wz).
