Abstract: The importance of exercise, particularly for the diabetic, is emphasized in this booklet. Following a discussion of the benefits of exercise in gereral are specific discussions of exercise programs for Type I and Type II diabetics. Benefits as well as precautions are described. An explanation of how to begin the exercise program and a diagram of the three exercise periods are followed by a discussion of a regime that gradually increases the program as well as the exercise process of cardiovascular conditioning. A calorie/activity chart and general guidelines for a program are included.
