Abstract: Statistical data and summary tables present information from a consumer study contracted by the National Restaurant Association. Information from 13,466 adults and children (8 years or older) was received; questions were asked on where individual's meals were prepared and/or consumed and what meals were skipped. Summary highlights include: the average person eats out 3.5 times during a 7-day period; lunch is the meal most likely to be eaten out; 47% of respondants ate dinner out once in the previous week; 15% ate breakfast out once in the previous week; males ate out more frequently than females; persons 22 to 40 years old are most likely to skip meals and single persons skip more meals than others. Thirty eight tables show data to support these and other conclusions. (rkm).
