"This bulletin is intended as an aide to both commercial and amateur strawberry growers in the selection of varieties best suited for their needs and conditions. The information is based largely on the experience of successful growers in practically every important commercial strawberry-producing district throughout the country, but the results of experiment-station tests, the experience of commercial canners and by-product manufacturers, the preferences of amateur fruit gardeners, and the conclusions resulting from wide personal observation have also been used in making up the variety lists which are given for different sections and regions."--Page 2.
