ABSTRACT: Ten articles provide an interdisciplinary approach to toxicology and nutrition. Reports and literature reviews present research on: 1) problems in toxicological evaluation; 2) natural toxic substances in food; 3) intestinal microorganisms and the metabolism of drugs and food additives; 4) benefits and toxic effects of metabolic activation of foreign substances; 5) effects of nutrition and enzyme induction in toxicology; 6) pharmacodynamic action of natural food; 7) nutrition and the intracellular site of toxic injury; 8) nutrient, drug, and toxin interactions; 9) food consumption and toxicity levels; and 10) effects of diet and food and environmental contaminants.
