Abstract: Clinical manifestations, differential diagnosis, evaluation, and therapy of hypertension in infants, children, and adolescents are discussed. Practical treatment for special hypertension problems are included, such as hypertension in infancy or in end-stage renal disease. Various viewpoints related to treatment therapies are considered since research has not identified specific cause-effect relationships. This lack of knowledge is of increasing importance since the number of children being diagnosed with mild essential hypertension is increasing. (kbc).
