Better Homes and Gardens inquiry on food
1984
Abstract: Consumer attitudes, issues, and trends related to the food industry, as revealed in a Better Homes and Gardens Consumer Panel Food Inquiry, are summarized in this report. Data were obtained using a questionnaire developed in conjunction with the Better Homes and Gardens food editors. Questionnaire respondents were members of the Better Homes and Gardens Consumer Panel, considered to be representative of all subscriber households, and their husbands. A demographic profile of inquiry respondents, and the methodology of the Consumer Panel selection are discussed. Inquiry findings for Panel members and their husbands are summarized separately. Questions asked of female respondents fell into the following categories: recipe usage, food preparation and serving, food usage, gardening and preserving, entertaining, nutrition, supermarket shopping, and microwave oven usage. Categories of questions asked of male respondents included food shopping, cooking, and kitchen chores. Specific inquiry questions, answers and the number of respondents selecting each answer (expressed as percentages) are presented. A table of contents and subject index are included to assist in locating specific subjects. (aje).
