Some 5,000 entries comprise the Latin names of families, genera, species, and many of the synonyms of edible and poisonous mushrooms, other fungi and pathogens of fungal plant diseases--together with thumb-tabbed sections of their English, German, French, and Italian equivalents (including a few vulgar vernacular names). The Basic Table lists the entries in alphabetical order by Latin name, then by such order in their translations, with indices keyed to the Basic Table by reference numbers. Special attention is paid to the different common names used in the English-speaking world, as well as those used in French-speaking Canada and Mauritius, which are common sources of identity confusion.
