1983 height and weight tables

The 1983 Height and Weight Tables, designed for a population between the ages of 25 and 59, show higher weights associated with lower mortality than previous Metropolitan tables. An historical perspective explains the development and use of the tables. Included are: the 1983 revision; elbow breadth ranges (used to determine frame size); and a statement of the usefulness of the tables in evaluating the elderly. (kbc)
