Water Vapor Diffusion in Relatively Dry Soil: II. Desorption Experiments
1964
Jackson, Ray D.
Water vapor diffusion during desorption was measured in three soil materials at water contents corresponding to a relative pressure range of 0.97 to about 0.05. The data were obtained from a transient desorption experiment conducted at 27°C. Diffusivities, calculated from analysis of water content distribution curves, increase and then decrease with increasing water content. The desorption diffusivity-water content curves exhibit a less distinct maximum, with the maximum occurring at a higher water content than do the sorption diffusivity-water content curves.
