The present study was conducted to know the diversity of insect pollinators and the pollination efficacy of most abundant pollinator of ridge gourd. The insect pollinators recorded from these crops were bumble bee, Indian Honey bee Apis cerena and Sphingid moth. Amongst them bumble bee was the most abundant pollinator. Study on foraging behavior of bumble bee revealed that it had foraging speed of 4.80 sec/flower and foraging rate of 8.67 flower/minute. Pollen carrying capacity, pollen deposition on stigma and transfer of viable pollens decides the efficacy of pollinator which was recorded in present study and it was found that maximum pollen carrying capacity and pollen deposition was observed after 4 successive visits. However, viable deposition of pollen in terms of number and per cent was highest in single visit.
