Evaluation of newer insecticide molecules against pests of Tomato

The treatment with spinosad 45 SC @ 125 g a.i./ha was found to be the most effective and recorded least (1.31–3.07, 0.84–2.27 & 0.36–1.64) aphids, whiteflies and thrips/3 leaves/plant, respectively. However, the treatment with chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC was found highly effective against fruit borer of tomato recording 6.8% on number and 5.1% on weight basis fruit damage and higher yield (46.03 t/ha) with 1: 14.20 ICBR. However, it was found at par with spinosad 45 SC @ 125 g a.i./ha, flubendamide 39.35 SC @ 60 g a.i./ha and novaluron 10 EC @ 75 g a.i./ha with fruit damage in the range of 7.0 to 8.0% on number basis and 6.4 to 6.9% on weight basis, respectively. In overall bioefficacy against sucking pests as well as fruit borer, the treatment with spinosad was found most effective.
