This paper discusses the results obtained in determining the delta-endotoxin content of commercial dendrobacillin samples by Mancini's radial immunodiffusion method, Lorell's rocket electrophoresis method, and enzyme immunoassay. The delta-endotoxin content was found to be correlated with dendrobacillin specimen biological activity, provided that the specimens were produced by the same Bacillus thuringiensis strain. The antigenic characteristics of the proteins in the B. thuringiensis crystals affected delta-endotoxin determination by immunochemical methods.
