Quality of milk in and around Tura town, Meghalaya

The present study was conducted in and around Tura town of West Garo Hills of Megha-Iaya. An attempt was to access the quality of milk samples on Sivaratri day. The study re-vealed that out of randomly selected localities only in one locality (group the quality of milk was near to the PFA standards. Milk samples collected from other localities (Group A. C, D, and E) were found to be adulterated with water and the quality of milk not confer than the standard prescribed by prevention of food adulteration rules.
