Time and Depth Patterns of Water Use by Corn
1956
Russell, M. B. | Danielson, R. E.
SynopsisCorn utilized water to a depth of 5 feet or more in a deep Brunizem soil. In each of three widely different moisture regimes, total water disappearance was proportional to corn yield. Rainfall and irrigation affected the soil moisture profile to a depth of only 2 feet on both corn and fallow plots.
