Motivation theories
1978
A refresher course for trainers and managers focuses on motivation theories. Content theories try to specify the energizers of behavior. They focus on job satisfaction with the belief that satisfaction leads to performance. The process theories are interested in how the amount and direction of performance can be controlled. Pay, goal setting, and leader behavior are among the prime subjects of interest to the process theorists. Some findings from research on the leader as a reinforcement agent are reported.
