A field experiment was conducted at Millet Breeding Station, TNAU, Coimbatore in greengram with nine different treatments. The slow rate of dry matter accumulation during pre-flowering phase, poor pod setting, earlier onset of leaf senescence during the period of pod development and low partitioning efficiency of assimilates to the grains were identified as the main physiological constraints for the yield. Investigations were undertaken to document the effect of foliar spray of chemicals and bioregulators viz., DAP, ZnSO₄, FeSO₄, boric acid, ammonium molybdate, urea, brassinosteroid, benzyl adenine, humic acid and naphthalene acetic acid on greengram variety CO 6. The present study demonstrated the significance of humic acid with Brassinosteroid improving Growth characters, biochemical parameters and yield components of greengram.
