Climatic adaptation of the white Tepary bean

Tepary beans grown in the cool climates of the central and northern California coast districts develop abnormally. The White Tepary is more prolific than varieties of Phaseolus vulgaris in the semiarid interior districts of California. The White Tepary is less prolific than varieties of Phaseolus vulgaris in the subhumid coast districts of central and northern California. The pre-blossoming period, the blossoming period, and the life period are each functions of climate. They are longer in cool climates than in warm climates, and they are either increased or diminished as the planting date causes them to occur during cool or warm weather.
