A Probability Model for Estimating Fiber Breakage in Rotor Spinning

The opening roller system of fiber separation in rotor spinning is known to cause considerable fiber breakage. An earlier work reported an experimental technique for determining fiber breakage. This study proposes a simple probability model based on the number-length relationship of the fibers, before and after the breakage, for estimating the probabilities of multisegmental breakages. The experimental and theo retical values show a reasonably good agreement.
