Pseudacteon obtusus (Diptera: Phoridae) attacking Solenopsis invicta (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in Brazil
1987
Williams, David F. | Banks, William A.
Field observations were made in Mato Grosso, Brazil, of Pseudacteon obtusus attacking foraging workers of Solenopsis invicta and ovipositing on them. Major workers were the preferred targets, with a single egg being laid on the posterior end of the head capsule. Possible reasons for the observed caste bias are discussed.
