Tritrichomonas foetus, purification and properties of low molecular weight ferredoxin, this protein is localized in hydrogenosomes, it can stimulate pyruvate- and hydrogen-dependent reduction of metronidazole by hydrogenosomal extracts from trichomonad flagellates (T. foetus and Trichomonas vaginalis) and is likely to be major electron transport component in hydrogenosomal pyruvate oxidation
